The 10 Best Towing Services in San Francisco (2026)
This list ranks the top towing services in San Francisco using a Bayesian score derived from Google ratings and review counts, refreshed for 2026. We prioritize businesses that combine high average ratings with meaningful review volume so smaller sample sizes don’t unfairly dominate the list. Towing in San Francisco is shaped by dense neighborhoods, strict parking enforcement, steep hills and busy arterials, so dependable local providers matter. Think of this guide as a snapshot of customer feedback on Google — a starting point when you need a tow, not a substitute for calling and confirming current availability.
This ranking is computed from Google reviews (our method). Listings marked Partner are paid advertising spots: they sit alongside the ranking without changing its order.

Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a towing service in San Francisco?
Look for a combination of a solid average rating and a meaningful number of reviews so the score is reliable. Check that the company’s listed services match your need (flatbed, local tow, jump start) and confirm estimated arrival times and any applicable fees before they start work.
What does a typical tow cost in the Bay Area?
Pricing varies by distance, vehicle size, time of day and whether it’s a private tow or an impound/accident tow. Ask for an estimate up front and whether there are additional charges for mileage, after-hours service or heavy vehicles.
What should I check before hiring a tow truck on the spot?
Confirm the company name and phone number, the driver’s identification, the estimated total cost and the vehicle’s destination. Also make sure your insurance or roadside assistance provider is aware, since they may cover part or all of the cost.
How was this ranking of towing services created?
The ranking is built from Google review data using a Bayesian score that weights average rating by review count to reduce the impact of very small samples. The list was updated in 2026 to reflect current Google ratings and review totals.
