Frequently asked questions
How should I choose a chimney sweep in San Francisco?
Look for a company with high ratings and a meaningful number of recent reviews, clear licensing and insurance information, and transparent pricing. Prioritize providers who explain their inspection and cleaning process and can provide a written estimate before work begins.
What does a typical chimney sweep service include?
A standard visit commonly involves an inspection of the flue, removal of soot and creosote buildup, and checking for visible damage or blockages. If repairs are needed, reputable companies will outline recommended fixes and offer a separate estimate.
What should I check before hiring a chimney sweep?
Confirm the business carries liability insurance and ask whether technicians are certified by a recognized trade organization if that matters to you. Also ask for references or recent reviews, a written scope of work, and whether there are extra charges for access or difficult jobs.
How was this ranking built and updated?
